In short: your photo is analyzed inside your own browser and is never uploaded or stored. We keep anonymous usage statistics to improve the tool. If you ask us to email your results, we store your email address and your color results so we can send them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we are
ColorSnapAI (colorsnapai.com) is a free color season analysis tool run by Hathaura Color. Questions about this policy or your data: hello@hathaura.co.
Your photo
When you upload a photo or use your camera, the face detection and color measurement run entirely in your browser on your device. Your photo is never sent to our servers or to anyone else, and we never store it.
Usage statistics
To understand how the tool is used, the site records anonymous events such as: a page was viewed, a photo was added, an analysis finished and which of the 12 seasons it found, a link or button was clicked, or an analysis was abandoned. Each event carries:
- a random ID created when the page loads, used only to group events from the same visit;
- where the visit came from (the referring website or campaign tags in the link, such as
utm_source); - the time of the event.
We don't use cookies for this, don't record your name, photo or IP address in these statistics, and don't use them to identify you or for advertising.
If you ask for your results by email
If you enter your email to receive your palette, we store your email address together with your color season, the runner-up season, the version of the analysis, and the three colors measured from your photo (hair, skin and eyes, as color codes). We use this to send you your results and, occasionally, related tips or offers from Hathaura Color. Every email has an unsubscribe link; after you unsubscribe we don't email you again.
To prevent abuse of this form, we check that the address looks deliverable and keep a short-lived record of sends with a one-way hash of the requesting IP address, used only for rate limiting.
AI assistant connector
ColorSnapAI offers a connector (an MCP server at colorsnapai.com/mcp) that AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude can use to look up color season palettes or estimate a season. The connector receives only what the assistant sends for the request: a season name, or three color codes for hair, skin and eyes. It never receives photos, names or your conversation. We log which tool was used, the season involved and which assistant made the request, to count usage.
Services we use
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Supabase stores usage statistics and email signups, and runs the connector and email functions.
- Resend sends emails.
We don't sell your personal information or share it with anyone else except as required by law.
How long we keep data
Usage statistics are kept while they're useful for improving the tool. Email signups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them; after you unsubscribe we keep only what's needed to make sure you aren't emailed again. Rate-limit records are deleted automatically.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time with the link in any email. You can ask us to access, correct or delete the data we hold about your email address by writing to hello@hathaura.co. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights under local law, which we'll honor.
Children
ColorSnapAI is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect email addresses from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
